Join us for the Night at the Fort Celebration

Join us at Historic Fort Snelling on the evening of Saturday, July 28th to celebrate and congratulate paddlers after a day of paddling. This is an excellent opportunity for family, friends, and volunteers to join the paddlers for an evening of fun! Scene from Fort Snelling There will be a hearty meal provided by local sponsors (hearty vegetarian options available) and live music provided by The Roe Family Singers, a good-time, old-time, family-friendly, hillbilly band from the Mississippi headwaters community Kirkwood Hollow, MN. We will also serve cold beverages including beer, root beer floats, and more.

For those paddling the Mississippi River Challenge, the price for the evening’s festivities is included in your registration fee. Non-paddlers are invited to join us for $20 per person ($25 after July 1). The fee is $10 for children ages 12 and under. Anyone interested in joining paddlers for the meal at Night at the Fort MUST register on the website by July 20th to ensure that we have enough food for guests as well as hungry paddlers.

If you would like to skip the meal, but still want to come and enjoy the music and fun, the fee is $10 and there is no pre-registration required. Up to three beer tickets may be purchased separately ($5 each) for adults with proper ID.

Those attending the evening’s festivities may arrive at Historic Fort Snelling anytime after 6:00 p.m. Stop by the check-in table to get your wristband which serves as your admission ticket. If you are camping with a family member or friend paddling, please note that breakfast is not included and we ask that visitors please leave coffee and breakfast items for paddlers who are about to embark on another 22-mile journey. All paddlers and visitors must be out of the fort grounds no later than 9:00 a.m.

Visit our registration page to sign up for the Night at the Fort and pay the entry fees.
